Elena Grechnikova

Merited Artist of Russia Elena Grechnikova was born in Staritsa. She is brilliantly educated in music and inharited the traditions of the Russian piano style. The deciple of Genrih Neigauz, V. Khoroshina was her college teacher, and in her student and post-graduate years in Moscow Conservatory Grechnikova studied in V. Merzhanov’s class, the letter being a disciple of S. Fainberg.

Elena worked as a soloist in Murmansk region Philharmonic society, taught in Yugoslavia, and in Moscow region college. She is an award winner of International pianist Competition in Monza (Italy, 1990).

The repertoire of the pianist includes a great number of solo and ensemble programs of various epochs and styles. She gave concerts in many towns in Russia and abroad (Germany, Yugoslavia, Italy, Bulgaria etc), she appeared with Sophia, Belgrade and many Russian orchestras.

Since 1994 Elena Grechnikova has been the pianist and a soloist of Boris Pevzner’s Moscow Choral Theatre.

A broadly educated musician she possessed a perfect command of the specific features of the chamber vocal performance. She enriches the artistic pallet of the ensemble by the symphony sound of the piano.

She is the rightful co-author of all creative ideas of the maestro. Being the theatre director, she is virtually the stem of the group.
